Ragtime — Brock Chart
Ragtime was written for the Museum of Modern Art (New York) for a short film in their series How to See. The short film explores MoMA’s expansive early film collection, and the director wanted a piece that sounded like something out of the ragtime period. Inspired by the classic sounds of Joplin, this piece uses several techniques familiar in ragtime style but with more-modern harmonies as well as jazz and blues influences.
