Help & Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers about editions, downloads, studio licensing, Scan & Play, and festival-friendly use.

Studio licensing for digital downloads

Each digital purchase is licensed specifically to you and personalized automatically (your name + order details print at the bottom of every page). That way it’s clear your copy is a legit, licensed studio or festival copy.

Why the download rules exist

Digital files are delivered instantly, so the policy is a little different than a physical book.

  • Limited download windows (so you’re encouraged to save files right away)
  • Refund limits once a file has been accessed
  • Clear licensing language so studios + festivals know the music is properly purchased

We try to keep it simple and student-friendly. If something goes sideways, email us—we usually reply within a few business days.

Help and FAQs

FAQs

What’s the difference between 1st Edition and 2nd Edition?

2nd Editions include the usual upgrades (typo fixes, cleaner engraving, and fingering tweaks), but the biggest change is QR codes next to each song title for quick access to play-alongs and videos.

Both editions include the same play-alongs and videos—1st Editions just use the separate QR sheets, while 2nd Editions have the QR codes printed right in the book.

How does Scan & Play work?

Open your phone camera, point it at the QR code, and tap the link. It’ll open the play-along or video in your browser—no special app required.

After you scan, you’ll land on a QR resource page (that’s where the audio/video player lives). Here’s an example of what that looks like: Midnight Spy.

How do I download my digital purchase?

Right after checkout you’ll see a link to your download page, and you’ll also get an order confirmation email with the download link.

Pro tip: download once and save it to your computer or studio drive so you’re set.

What if my 24-hour download link expires?

It happens—no stress. Just reach out with your order number and we’ll help you get access again.

Can I print copies for my students?

Digital purchases are licensed to the buyer. If multiple students need their own copies, please purchase additional copies/licenses (or message us—we’re happy to help you choose the best option for your studio).

Is this NFMC-friendly?

Yes. The key is that each performer uses properly licensed music. Our digital copies automatically print license details at the bottom of each page, which helps when festivals want proof the copy is legitimate.

How does the rewards program work?

Our rewards program lets you earn points for things like purchases, creating an account, and other actions in the shop.

Points can be redeemed for discounts and perks. You can view your points balance, available rewards, and full details on the Rewards page.

Do you offer refunds on digital downloads?

Because digital files are delivered instantly, refunds usually aren’t possible once a download has been accessed. If something is wrong with your order, reach out—we’ll make it right.

Can I commission a new composition for myself, a student, or my studio?

Yes! I'm happy to take on commissions for individuals, students, studios, schools, and organizations.

If you’re looking for something custom-written, just send an email with a bit of info about what you’re thinking and we’ll go from there.

Do you offer piano lessons or composition lessons with Brock?

Yes! Brock offers a limited number of private lessons, depending on availability.

If you’re interested in piano lessons, composition lessons, or mentoring, the best way to get started is to send an email with a little information about your goals and experience.

My audio won’t play—what should I try?

First try refreshing the page. If you’re on a school network, try switching to a different Wi-Fi or cellular data. On iPhone/iPad, make sure Silent Mode isn’t affecting playback.
