Fimbulwinter — Brock Chart
Fimbulwinter is a personal favorite and is a unique winter-themed waltz written for Early Intermediate to Intermediate students. This piece uses the contrasting rhythms in the hands and close harmonies to sound like a wind-up music box. The name comes from Norse mythology — Fimbulwinter is the everlasting winter that comes after Ragnarok. It is supposed to be harsh blizzards, but this piece asks: what if it began with a few snowflakes?
